PDFL round-up: Crowland Reserves claim derby bragging rights, Tigers Reserves lose big clash at the top

Three second-half goals fired Crowland Town Reserves to a 3-1 derby win over Pinchbeck United Reserves on Saturday.

The all South Holland showdown in ChromaSport PDFL Division One was goalless at the break, but Mantas Paskevicius, Jake Woodward (penalty) and Matt Smith scored to give Crowland the points.

Ryan Wheeler replied for Pinchbeck, who had Jenson Patterson sent off.

Staying in Division One, Tydd suffered a 3-1 loss at Deeping Rangers Reserves.

William Howarth and Jordan Avis netted in the first half for the hosts, with Avis adding a second after the break. Dale Parnell netted for Tydd, but no comeback materialised.

Up in the Premier Division, Holbeach United Reserves lost their big clash against leaders Uppingham Town 1-0. Callum O’Berg’s strike settled a close clash, leaving Holbeach third in the table and seven points of the pace.

At the other end of the table, Long Sutton Athletic remain bottom after a 7-0 tonking at Netherton United.

Louie Venni hit four of the seven goals for the hosts.

In Division Two, a goal from Glen Wells couldn’t stop Holbeach Sports losing 5-1 at home to Farcet United.

Also beaten were Long Sutton Reserves, who went down 4-0 a home to Wittering Premair Reserves.

The losing theme stretched into Division Three, with Tydd Reserves hammered 8-0 at home by Sawtry.

Better news came in Division Four, with Sutton Bridge climbing up to second with a 2-1 success at Cambridge FC. Kurt Scott and Joseph Sutton netted to get Bridge back to winning ways.

Pinchbeck A also picked up three points as Leandro Manuel Silva Borges and Ryan Stanberry shot down Park Farm Pumas Reserves 2-0.
