A Long Sutton man campaigning against parental alienation says there are too many delays on court action over enforcement cases.
Simon Cobb set up PAPA (People Against Parental Alienation) after struggling to gain access to his son.
It’s gone nationwide over the last few years and last November carried out a survey through its website.
Simon says that of the 954 parents who filled in the anonymous survey, 231 said enforcement action had been instigated but only four led to prosecutions.
A report PAPA had published from the survey called The Family Justice Transparency Report, claims that ‘more than half of enforcement applicants waited over three months for a hearing, and nearly 90 per cent waited longer than one month.
“During delays exceeding three months, 78 children had no contact at all with the parent they were ordered to see, despite an order being in force,” the report continues.
