Owls about that for art?

Nature has landed in a Long Sutton Park thanks to woodcarver Mick Burns.

The Lincoln carver was invited by Long Sutton Parish Council to create barn owl in an oak tree stump at Cinder Ash Park.
A spokesman for the council said: “Throughout the day a small crowd watched the owl emerge from the wood, by the use of four different chainsaws and various other smaller tools.
“The carver has created many other pieces across the country and this latest owl is definitely a crowd pleaser with even groups from the Cinder Ash Playgroup checking in on the progress throughout the day.”
Parish Council chair John Clarey said: “I’m delighted with the artwork. It looks amazing and I hope it stands for years to come.
“A huge thank you to Coun Ivan Thompson for organising a special event.”
