On trial for teenager’s murder

The mother and step-father of a Peterborough teenager who went missing last year are on trial at Cambridge Crown Court.
Scott Walker (51) is charged with the murder of his step-daughter Bernadette on or after July 18 last year.
Police from Cambridgeshire searched land around Cowbit several times after Bernadette was reported missing.
Her body has never been recovered and her step-father is also charged with four counts of perverting the course of justice, which he also denies.
Her mother Sarah (38) denies two counts of perverting the course of justice.
The prosecution alleges Scott Walker was sexually abusing his step-daughter and killed her to prevent her pursuing the allegations.
The trial continues.
