Numbers add up for Spalding school

The Priory School in Spalding has received a boost towards getting a new all-weather sports pitch thanks to accountancy firm Moore Thompson.

The company chose the Neville Avenue school for those with special education needs as its charity of the year.

Colleagues took on a host of events including a sponsored abseil down the Orbit Tower at the Olympic Park, their 2017 Christmas jumper party, a cake sale and a car auction held at the end of last year.

A cheque for £2,281.58 was presented to Daran Bland, executive head teacher from The Priory School at Moore Thompson’s offices at Bank House in Broad Street, Spalding.

He said everyone at the school has thanked the team at Moore Thompson for its donation and confirmed that the money will be being put towards funding an all-weather sports pitch.

Matthew Storey, a partner at Moore Thompson who presented the cheque, said: “We were delighted to be able to make this donation to The Priory School and are excited to learn more about the progress of its all-weather sports pitch project.

“Many thanks must go to our team at Moore Thompson and our local clients and contacts who contributed so much to our fundraising last year.

“We have a number of events planned this year to raise even more for charities just like The Priory School.”
