Not much change in darts

There wasn’t much change across the Spalding Darts leagues after Monday night’s round of games.

In Division One, Rose and Crown C beat their A team 6-3.

After going 3-0 up in the pairs they were in the driving seat and added to their tally with wins from Mark Horspool, Ant Richardson and Monty Bunn.

Horspool had a 17-dart leg, but Richardson was player of the night with winning legs of 17 and 18 darts.

Drayman’s A beat Royal Mail Cart by the same margin of 6-3 where they won five of the six singles, the only winner for Mail Cart was Paul Faulkner who beat Barry Smith.

Josh Grainger fired in a 180 in his win over Steve Rawding.

In a closer encounter Ye Olde Abbey beat Consti E 5-4, thanks to a last game win for Stan Browning over Paul Merrill.

Browning held his nerve and won 2-0.

Dave Norbury had a maximum 180 in his win over Craig Woods.

In Division Two, Ship Long Sutton caused somewhat of an upset by beating second placed Consti D 5-4.
Ship were 4-2 down with three games to go but managed to win them all to take the points.

An all-important win came from Zach Chapman, who beat Ady Smith thanks to a 120 checkout in the final leg to seal victory.

Other winners were Jake Hinta Penta and Tom Semper.

Another close game in Division Two was a 5-4 win for Riverside over table topping Drayman’s B.

Drayman’s started the better, winning two of the three pairs and then the first two singles games to put them 4-1 up.

Drayman’s needed one win in the next four singles games, but Andy Picinelli, Carl Kirk, Jonny Pell and Kieran Twitchen had different ideas and won their games to take the match 5-4.

Drayman’s captain Conor Hughes had a maximum 180 in his pairs win with George Merrill.

Holbeach Services B kept up their good run with a fine 7-2 win over Green Dragon B.

Callum Day was the player of the night and got the only points for Dragon.

On the night Day had a 180 and a 17-dart leg in the singles. He also teamed up with Sean Trafford and had an 18-dart leg in the pairs.

Lincoln Arms beat Moulton Harrox 5-4 thanks to a last game win for John Charlton over Tony Vickovic.
Biggest win of the night was for Mulberrys who beat Pied Calf 8-1.

Mulberrys were in control throughout the night and sole winner for the Pied was Ben Killingsworth.
