No stopping Gedney Hill’s fantastic four at Lincs Seniors Past and Present Captains’ Day

Gedney Hill Golf Club are celebrating after winning the annual Lincs Seniors Past and Present Captains’ Day competition at Thorney Lakes.

Some 26 teams of four from golf clubs all over Lincolnshire took part, with none managing to outscore Wally Lawes, Bill Smith, Neil Sargeant and Carl Claxton from Gedney Hill.

An individual competition was also held, with 127 players participating. Claxton also came third in that with 37 points and Wally Lawes came eighth with 36 points.

  • Seniors’ section results: June Medal – 1st Neil Sargeant 65nett; 2nd Rob Newns 77; 3rd David Lord 80 (ocb).

Alf Horton Trophy – 1st Neil Sargeant 39pts; 2nd Keith Lawrence 37pts; 3rd K Partridge 33pts.

  • Men’s Section: June Medal – 1st Chris Blakey 64nett; 2nd K Higgs 65 (ocb); 3rd Nick Markillie 65.

Diamond Cup – 1st Adam Britton 43pts; 2nd Mark Nightingale 42pts (ocb); 3rd Nigel Grummitt 42.

  • Ladies’ section: June Medal – 1st Janet Davis 78nett; 2nd Maggie Bingham 87; 3rd Jenny Venters 88.

Rigby Taylor – 1st Maggie Bingham 34pts; 2nd Ann Chick 23; 3rd Lynn Exley 19.
