Nick raises £4,500 for charity

Fundraiser Nick Franklin has raised more than £4,500 for charity by completing five half iron man challenges in five consecutive days.

The mammoth challenge was inspired by Nick’s dad Graham who died from a heart attack in 2009 and his in-laws Geoff and Lynda, who have both survived cancer.

The money will go to the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and West Norfolk Mind.

Over the five days Nick swam six miles, cycled 280 miles and ran 65 miles.

Each day averaged between seven and eight hours exercising.

Nick said: “All money raised will be divided equally between the three charities.

“Since my father died in 2009 we have now raised £10,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported me in achieving my challenge.

“A special thank you to Chosen a charity shop in Holbeach who donated £1,000 to the challenge.”

Nick now lives in King’s Lynn but is previously from Holbeach, where his mum Sue still lives.

She works at the Horse and Groom where Nick finished his challenge.
