The Pinchbeck Village Show has a new top prize thanks to a district councillor.
Elizabeth Sneath has donated some of the money from her South Holland District Council ward budget to purchase a new cup.
That’s because the old one that’s been used for 50 years is now too full with names.
The cup is awarded to the person with the most points from the produce and crafts they submit to be judged.
Classes include fruit, vegetables, flowers and flower arrangements, baking, jams and chutneys. Knitting, sewing, crafts, limericks, poems and many others.
Coun Sneath said: “I am keen to help maintain and support traditional rural activities in our villages.
“The show helps foster a strong sense of community and provides opportunities for neighbours to connect and celebrate their shared village life.
“Many village shows have been lost over the years, but they were an important and popular part of our past.
“The Pinchbeck Village Show is a great community event, which celebrates our rural heritage and where residents display their produce, crafts and other creations in a friendly competitive atmosphere.”
