New store opens in Spalding

A brand-new SPAR convenience store has opened in Spalding.

The purpose-built 2,584sq ft retail unit, situated on the corner of Winsover Road and Carrington Road, opened its doors on April 28 and has led to 20 new roles being created.

The store will be celebrating its launch with a goody bag giveaway. Golden tickets will also be given out at random over the opening weekend and a prize draw will offer shoppers the chance to win a TV.

Store manager Michelle Bland commented: “We are really excited to start trading in Spalding and would like to welcome all members of the local community to experience our new store.

“It has been designed specially to ensure the best possible service, and we are sure our shoppers will love the huge variety of food to go and all the fresh and chilled products available.”

An internal cash machine will be available during trading hours. The site has also been fitted with a defibrillator.

A Spar spokesman, said: “The store features a hot food counter serving delicious meals from 7am to 6pm, as well as chilled food to go, including sandwiches and baguettes that have been freshly prepared onsite.

“Takeaway options include self-serve F’Real milkshakes and smoothies, Tango Ice Blast frozen drinks and Philpotts coffee and treats.

“Customers looking for meal solutions can choose from a great-value County Bridge fresh meat range and hundreds of products across fresh, chilled and grocery categories. Beers, wines and spirits and lottery services are available.”

SPAR Spalding is operated by family-owned business Blakemore Retail, part of the A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd group of companies.
