New rapid charging points for town

An application to install a sub-station and rapid charging points in a Spalding car park has been submitted.

The proposal would see eight charge points along with the erection of a substation at the Winsover Centre.

“Our proposal will serve as a vital new piece of infrastructure for both local people and for visitors.

“Further, it will serve to increase footfall at the retail park,” says the design and access statement accompanying the application.

The company behind the plans, Osprey Charging Network, says there would be minimal disruption to the car park when the work, if approved, is carried out.

Describing The Winsover Centre as a ‘busy shopping centre in the centre of Spalding,” the design and access statement said it would have a minimal visual impact.

“It is Osprey’s aim to not only meet, but to exceed the requirements for accessible access,” said the statement.
