A new NHS dental practice is to open in Spalding by the end of this year.
It will offer routine and urgent care to patients from 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year.
NHS England Central Midlands has commissioned Rodericks Dental Ltd, a Northampton-based business with 70 dental practices across England and Wales.
Rodericks declined to give any further information at this stage. It remains unclear how many patients the practice could take on and where exactly it will be.
NHS England says the new service will be operational from December 1 and the contract is for seven years with an option for it to be extended for a further three years.
Di Pegg, head of primary care for NHS England in Lincolnshire, said: “We’re delighted to confirm that, from December, a new NHS dental service will be delivering routine and urgent care to patients in Spalding from 8am to 8pm, every single day of the year.
“We have commissioned this brand new practice after looking at the overall picture of dental care in Lincolnshire, and identifying which parts of the county are most in need of better access to NHS treatment.
“We’re continuing our work to address that need by asking bidders to come forward to run additional new services in Lincoln, Sleaford and Boston.
“All in all, that’s great news for people right across the county, who will soon find it much easier to benefit from routine, urgent and out-of-hours NHS dental care closer to where they live.”
The new contracts are a response to an assessment of local dental needs carried out by NHS England in Lincolnshire.
It said: “This identified priority areas where improved access to NHS dental services was required.”
