Users of Surfleet’s Fraiser Room can enjoy new kitchen facilities thanks to grant funding.

Trustees and guest recently celebrated the completion of the extension and refurbishment.

Grants to fund the work were obtained from The Big Lottery Fund and WREN, along with donations from South Holland district councillors Sally Slade, Elizabeth Sneath and David Avery from their discretionary funds.

Other funds and loans were obtained to enable the project to proceed.

During the evening Mary Hurst, representing WREN, presented a plaque to Fraiser Room trustee Douglas Drakard.

To round off the evening Ambrose Garner gave a show of DVDs copied from cine film of life in Surfleet in the 1950s.
