New hub is a Tonic for Holbeach

The door has opened to a new era at South Holland charity Tonic Health.

With bases in Spalding and Long Sutton and Cafe 44 in Surfleet, it had been providing help and services across the district.

A new hub has now opened in Holbeach, on Boston Road South, and the aim is for it to become a community centre for all ages with a strong focus on activities and events.

“We are pleased and excited to open the new Holbeach Hub and are looking forward to connecting with both the local community and business,” said Michael Morris, who set up the organisation in 2011.

The ribbon was officially cut by Lord Taylor of Holbeach.

One of the new groups is aimed at people with dementia and their carers. It wants to help those in early stages of the condition and offers a day of activities and entertainment to give carers a much-needed break.

The charity will hold its first golf day at Spalding Golf Club on Tuesday, June 28. Further details are on the group’s Facebook page.
