New classroom officially opened

New head of governors at Donington’s Thomas Cowley High School, Simon Lilley, did the honours to officially open a new classroom.

Headteacher Martyn Taylor said the £35,000 state-of-the-art maths classroom had been necessary to create more space.

He said: “We now have the largest population in the long and distinguished history of the school and it is good to have more teaching space.”

He added: “I am looking forward to working with Mr Lilley. I have already been impressed by the interest he has shown in our day to day work and I am confident he will help us to move the school forward.”

Mr Lilley has been on the school’s board of governors for 18 months.
