New bin for Surfleet dog walkers

Dog walkers in Surfleet have a new poo bin for their pets thanks to people power.

Local resident Bernice Issitt asked Coun Sally Slade about the possibility of a new bin in the area after one was successfully installed last year.

Coun Slade used her designated budget to buy the bins which are positioned at either end of a footpath in Colbeach Lane and have already proved popular.

Coun Slade said: “About a year ago Bernice asked me for a bin at one end of the footpath, which is very popular with dog walkers in Surfleet.

“A few weeks ago she asked again if it was possible to have one at the other end of the path – this is the result.

“As Bernice says, ‘If you don’t ask, you don’t get’ and she and many other dog-walkers are now using this new bin.

“I am always looking to use my designated budget to good effect and happy to discuss ideas which will benefit the community.”
