Pinchbeck Community Hub and Library has been given a national award.
It’s earned the accolade as part of the Community Libraries Network Awards 2024.
It’s been named a winner in the ‘Community Hubs’ category
A spokesman for the Communities Libaries Network said of Pinchbeck: “It is now in its tenth year of operation and has become a key component of local village life by providing library services, space to hire, organised activities and a ‘new to you’ shop.
“It’s set out ten key objectives which have enabled The Hub to go significantly above and beyond its original remit and has resulted in it providing a wide range of services, activities and events that have created innovative and accessible solutions that have begun to reshape how people can access the help and support they need.
“The Hub is pioneering the concept of ‘Place’ in collaboration with local NHS and LA partners. 2024 has been a transformational year.”
Coun Elizabeth Sneath sang the hub’s praises at a recent meeting of Lincolnshire County Council, which used to run it before the volunteers took it on.
“I am delighted that the Community Hub and Library in Pinchbeck are going from strength to strength,” she said. “Our wonderful volunteer team are full of fabulous ideas and plans.
“Over the summer we saw nearly 2,000 people visit the hub over five weeks for our amazing school holiday events.
“Heritage activities, music, cookery, soft play, Acro etc were all on offer.”
The awards were due to be presented at a ceremony in Swindon yesterday (Wednesday) after The Voice went to press.
