Musical adventure for all the family

A unique theatrical chamber music performance is being held at the South Holland Centre on Saturday night.

Mishmash productions are staging Hubbub – A Musical Adventure for families with children aged five years and over.

It tells the story of five friends on a journey through a muttering meadow, over a rickety bridge, under the sea and into a volcano as they follow the trail of a mysterious blue beetle on the quest for a lost voice.

Performed by four musicians from the acclaimed Aurora Orchestra and an actor, Hubbub has the highest quality, original classical music at its heart.

Audience members will sit on cushions and benches in a den-like structure on stage, bringing them within touching distance of the performers and creating an entirely magical and engaging experience.

Ticketholders can make more of their visit by arriving an hour before each show to make a mischievous mini-bug, free of charge.

A previous performance at the Nottingham Music Service saw their chief executive Ian Burton lead the plaudits.

He said: “The music was first rate and the whole thing was joyous and full of utterly inspired moments.”

Tickets cost £8.50 or £7.50 for under 16s and groups of four-plus.

Bookings can be made at www.southhollandcentre.co.uk by phone 01775 764777 or at the box office.
