Music Festival goes ‘out on a high’

After the biggest Holbeach Music and Beer Festival, the organisers are calling it a day and going out on a high.

The amount of time and financial pressure involved in organising the event has ‘become challenging’, says Sean Taylor, who was one of those behind the event.

“We have come to this very difficult decision, but feel it’s the right time to bring the festival to a close and sadly the 2025 Holbeach Music and Beer Festival was our final farewell,” said a statement on Facebook.

“After 11 years of hard work we feel we have achieved what we set out to do in bringing thousands of people together to an annual community event and putting our small town of Holbeach on the map. We are so proud of the Holbeach Festival and the public support has been tremendous over the years,” the statement added.

This year’s event, held earlier this month, saw more than 14,000 visitors over four days and was widely praised.

Headline acts included Typically Tina and Spice Forever – tribute bands to Tina Turner and the Spice Girls.

Rick Parfitt Jnr and his band played to thousands of festival-goers and the event opened on a Thursday for the first time.

“It’s a difficult decision but we feel it’s the right time to go out on top, especially with all the financial pressures all event organisers are feeling in the industry, and unfortunately going forward the costs are expected to increase.”

The first festival, in 2015, had hundreds of guests and this year was the culmination of hard work put in over the years.

The venue, Fen Field Events, will still be used in the future and there are plans for camping and other events which are in the planning stage for next year.

“With everyone’s support, the festival quickly established itself as well-organised, respected and became one of the most popular community events in Lincolnshire for over a decade.”

But there may yet be another chapter, as the organisers are willing to discuss future options with individuals, corporate clients or businesses interested.

“We have been very fortunate and lucky to have support from fantastic sponsors and partners over the years, and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to businesses and individuals that have supported us to make the festival the success it was,” says the statement.
