MP ‘charmed’ to open new Spalding shop

South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes was among the first to browse the range of home furnishings and gifts when he officially opened Spalding’s newest shop.

Mr Hayes cut the ribbon to officially open Charmed Interiors in the town’s Sheepmarket, where he also met staff, including owner Jason Sutton and his brother Darren, who is manager of the new store – the company’s second after its flagship in Downham Market.

The shop stocks a range of home furnishings, bedding, curtains, towels and gifts.

Darren, who used to work as the manager at the town’s Peacock store and has years of retail experience, said: “Since we opened on Friday trade has been steady, so it’s going well.

“We think there is a niche in the market for this kind of shop in Spalding – we did look at other places such as King’s Lynn and March but felt that Spalding offered the best fit for us.

“It’s nice to be working in a family business and it means we can take our time, getting to know our customers and provide them with what they need.”
