Motorists warned of disruption for maintenance work on A16 and A17

Stretches of the A17 and A16 will be closed in July for overnight surface dressing work.

Lincolnshire County Council will carry out a programme of maintenance between 7pm and 7am from Sunday, July 12 to Tuesday, July 28.

Convoy working will take place from July 18 to July 24 at:
A17 – Holbeach – between Holbeach roundabout and Foxes Low Road
A17 – Fleet Hargate to Gedney roundabout

Road closures will take place overnight (7pm until 7am) at:
A17 – from East Heckington to Heckington (July 12 to July 17)
A16 – between Spalding and Crowland (July 13 to July 21)
A17 – Leadenham to Beckingham (July 20 to July 28)

The county council says it has considered the needs of the travelling public and apologises for any disruption the work may cause.

It added: “These works are essential to maintain the life of the existing road surface.”

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and drive with extra care and reduced speed over the newly treated surfaces until all road markings have been replaced.
