Moreman double fires Tulips to derby win over Tigers

A deadly double from new signing Josh Moreman steered Spalding United to a 2-0 friendly victory over South Holland rivals Holbeach United on Saturday.

Moreman buried a first-half penalty on 28 minutes, before rifling home a superb left-footed volley (72) to settle the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field clash.

Having gone close early on through Neal Spafford Tom Waumsley and Michael Frew, Spalding deservedly went ahead when Sam Murphy was fouled in the box and Moreman slotted the resultant penalty past Ricky Drury.

At the other end, Josh Ford tested Tulips’ keeper Michael Duggan a few times, but it was the Tulips who struck again when Moreman lashed home his second following a flick-on from sub Jordan Nuttell.

After the game it was revealed that Holbeach are closing on a three-month loan deal for Boston United keeper Sam Vince.
