Spalding racer Andy Molsom is ready for a new challenge in the Caterham Graduates Racing Club SigMax Championship.
Having sold his trusted old car over the close season, his new Caterham will offer Molsom more power in a series that will also provide some fresh rivals.
Molsom said: “This new Caterham is nine years old, but is generally more reliable than my old car. It also handles a little different as it has wider front track, a limited slip differential, harder suspension and more power.
“I felt it was time to retire my original car, as at 16-years-old it was becoming less reliable, and the faster Caterham will bring a new challenge.”
Molsom’s first outing this year was on February 25 at Silverstone National circuit. It was a very cold day and barely above freezing, but being a track day, Molsom took some passengers out for high speed laps of the circuit in his SigMax Caterham.
The car has been refreshed over the winter, with a resprayed rollcage with green and yellow decals changed to match his previous Caterham, with the championship decals yet to go on.
Molsom added: “This year will be a challenge, a new car which needs a slightly different driving style, and there is some really strong competition on the grid.
“I am looking for some good consistent races, and hopefully some podiums. Everything else will be a bonus for the first year in this championship.”
Molsom is also helping to raise awareness of CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) with CRPS Racing 4A cure, by carrying their stickers on his race car.
