More details of Spalding vaccine site revealed

Images of the COVID-19 vaccination site at Springfields Events Centre have been published alongside details of how it will be operated.

The hub is one of the main vaccine sites for south Lincolnshire and is due to go live in the next two days.

The images inside have been published on social media by the Bourne Gatley Medical Practice.

The post by the practice states: “We hope it (the photos) reassures you that the site is distanced and safe for those who are concerned about their wellbeing.

“Patients will be directed to check in and wait in a lane, they will be called forward for their vaccination and greeted by a clinician and admin assistant) and then directed to a waiting area to be monitored for 15 minutes before it is safe to leave.

“It is a one way system, distanced and secure. Our team are trained, prepared and ready to go.”

The four most vulnerable groups are being vaccinated first, those are residents in a care home for older adults and their carers, those aged 70 and over, frontline health and social care workers and the clinically extremely vulnerable.

The NHS is contacting the public when it’s their turn for the vaccine. It is urging the public not to contact them to ask about the vaccine.
