More consulting on boundaries

A second round of consultation on changes to parliamentary boundaries is under way.

If the plans are accepted, then South Holland and the Deepings will cease to exist.
Instead, a new constituency of South Lincolnshire will be created and it will include some new villages to replace the Deepings, most of which will be grouped in another area.
The Boundary Commission first announced the plans last year as part of the
2023 review into constituencies in England.
The review is aiming to make parliamentary seats more equal in terms of the size of the voting population.
Villages including Swineshead, Sutterton and Bicker would join the South Lincolnshire constituency while most of the Deepings would join neighbouring areas.
MP Sir John Hayes has previously said he supported the move, but would prefer the new constituency to retain the name South Holland.
The Boundary Commission has opened another round of consultation on its proposals.
Initial feedback has been collected and the new session will run to April 4.

A formal report and recommendations will be submitted in June.
