Mixed bag for Sutton

Long Sutton Men’s 1st won 2-0 at home to University of East Anglia Men’s 1st thanks to two goals from Josh Baker.

The bottom of the table clash took place in appalling weather, seeing a 0-0 scoreline at half time. Two second half open play goals from Baker sealed Sutton’s second win of the season and moved them up one place in the league.

Man of the match was Sutton’s goalie Dan Plant who made a string of outstanding saves to keep them in the match.

The men’s 2nd team drew 2-2 at home to Wisbech Town 2nds.

Goals in that one came from William White (18) and Chris Smith (64).

Long Sutton 3rd suffered a heavy defeat, going down 8-1 at home to Wisbech Town 3rds. Their lone goal was scored by Jack Braginton (27).

Long Sutton Ladies’ 1st took on St Neots 2nd at home with a final score of 3-0.

Goals came courtesy of Amber Jones (1), Jess Burton (58) and Hannah Baker (60).

The ladies’ 2nd team drew 1-1 in a local derby against Bourne Deeping 2nds. Lisa Baker (53)finding the net in that one.
