Misfits land dancing award

A group of ‘Molly dancers’ has won a London award after filming their morris dance routine in Holbeach Hurn.

Misfit Molly, whose members include some from Holbeach and Sutton Bridge, were crowned winners of the Croydon MorrisOVision competition after submitting two videos, My Corona and Lockdown.

They were due to compete at the annual Croydon Night of Dance for morris dancing troupes, earlier this year before it was cancelled.

The event raises money for charity so was instead held last week online with morris-dancing groups sending their videos in instead.

Misfit Molly, who specialise in the Molly dancing particularly associated with The Fens and East Anglia, won the public vote.

Organiser Nuala O’Neill commended: “Congratulations on a very big win. Your videos were brilliant and very worthy of every vote.”
