Men’s Shed gets motoring

Things at Long Sutton Men’s Shed have moved up a gear by thanks to a new section devoted to work on vehicles.

“The new automotive section will provide members with further opportunities to undertake additional activities including now a small motor cycle repairs and reconstructions,” the club’s Frank Heinrich-Tiller said.

“The new group is currently rebuilding a donated 1950s BSA Batum motor cycle.

“Our intention is to build this bike from the box of parts that were handed to the Shed and once completed we hope to sell this bike and use the funds to purchase another similar motorbike, with any surplus funds going to our charity.

“We hope that this new automotive group will attract additional members who might be interested in joining the new group.”

The Shed is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning with annual membership being just £10 per year plus £1 per session attended to cover the cost of refreshments.

“Our charity provides a safe haven for our members to participate in a wide variety of activities, sharing their skills and experiences,” said Frank.

“We help our members who maybe feeling lonely, socially isolated, anxieties and depressed and is especially beneficial for this men who have been bereaved.”
