Medals aplenty for Peterborough Nene Valley’s indoor masters at Lee Valley

Peterborough Nene Valley athletes won medals of every colour at the British Masters Indoor Championship at Lee Valley.

Gary Huskisson won gold in the over-60s 200m with a fine 25.68mins run.

Simon Fell grabbed over-40s silver in the 3,000m after crossing the line in 9.50.44mins.

Pole vaulter Richard Phelan also won silver with a vault of 2.70m in the over-55 event.

The over-45s shot putt bronze medal was won by Simon Achurch with a throw of 11.95m.

Meanwhile, Kevin Bates was fifth in the over-65s shot, with Hazel Gerring sixth in the over-45 shot.

In the over-35s pole vault, Gemma Skells placed sixth.

The British Masters Winter Throws Championship also took place at Lee Valley, with Andrea Jenkins winning the over-40s discus with a throw of 35.35m, along with the hammer and the weighted throw.

Simon Achurch won the javelin and finished second in the discus, hammer and weighted throw.
