Medals and certificates for arty youngsters in South Holland District Council scheme

Youngsters who took part in The Great South Holland Artsathlon this year have been awarded medals and certificate.

The South Holland District Council scheme invited children aged from four upwards to take part in arts activities during the summer holidays.

This year there were over 100 sessions, including visual and performing arts workshops, creative writing sessions and watching shows at the South Holland Centre and Ayscoughfee Hall. Participants were awarded points for each activity and these were added up to determine who could win either bronze, silver or gold medals.

Coun Gary Taylor, council portfolio holder for community, handed out medals and certificates to the delighted children during a special ceremony at the South Holland Centre in Spalding..

He said: “It was a pleasure to present the medals to the children in recognition of the efforts they put into creative activities during the summer holidays.

“I would like to thank everyone who took part, I am sure they all enjoyed themselves.”
