McGowan takes trophy

The eighth annual Inky’s memorial golf day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support took place recently.

Sixteen golfers endured a wet and windy day of golf, but carried on and completed the rounds.

Steve Stancer said: “A big thank you to Charlie at Gedney Hill Golf Club for holding it there again.

“There were several prizes for the golfers include some lovely engraved glasses.

The main prize winner was Dave McGowan, who won the competition for the first time after organising it for eight years.

The golfers then went to the Lincoln Arms in Spalding for the prize giving, raffle, auction and buffet.

Steve added: “Many thanks to Linzie and Graham for such a lovely spread.

“The raffle and auction was a great success.

“The total raised by this event was £1,300, which is absolutely amazing for the local Macmillan Cancer Support.

“Dave would like to thank everyone who helped and contributed to supporting this amazing day.”
