Maximum win for leaders

Donington B extended their lead at the top of the Spalding and District Billiards League to 12 points with a maximum 7-0 win over their club mates, the A team.

Mick Pearl (r30) kicked off a good night for them with a 200-188 win against Nigel Brasier (r45).

Neil Reynolds (o60) scraped home by just four points against Tony Scully (r50), 200-196 to go two up.

Recording his best game of the season with breaks of 39 and 30 was Neil Burton (r65) and rounded off the night with a 200-133 win against Jim Thompson (r70).

Second placed Broadway had no game this week due to a postponement of their fixture.

Pyramid B now have a strong third position place by beating Gosberton at home with a 5-2 win, Maurice Phillipson (r80) defeating Des Forbes (r70) 200-156 to put them one up.

Phil Cooke (r95) carried on the good work for Pyramid with a 200-161 win against Shane White (o30).

But Marcus Pell (o45) for Gosberton salvaged two points by overcoming Darrell Read (r30) with a 200-187 win, Pell making breaks of 38 and 33 on the way.

Fourth place is still occupied by Pyramid A, despite losing away to Services 7-0.

Wins for Phil Spencer (r80), Vince Fitter (r05) and Nigel Cherry (r80) against John Clapton (r115), Neil McClean (r95) and John Twell (r35) respectively gave Services hope of moving up from the bottom of the table.

Fitter recorded his highest break of the season with a 44 unfinished.

Moving up one place to sixth is Holbeach B, as they won 5-2 away at Consti.

Denis Hix (r75) took the first game for them with a 200-142 win against Mick Johnson (o60).

Hix hitting his highest break of the season with a 31, and Johnson making breaks of 30, 26, 21 and 20.

Levelling up the scores was Alan Hansard (r70) for Consti as he had a 64-point win against Andy Spearman (r85).

Consti just holding an overall aggregate of six points going in to the deciding game, it was down to Stewart Davies (r35) for Consti and Neil Harvey (r35) of Holbeach to battle it out.

Harvey was triumphant as he won 200-159, and taking the aggregate point in the process.
