Maximum 180s thrown across the board

It was a night of 180s in Division One of the Spalding League. Consti A beat Rose and Crown 8-1, with four maximums thrown.

The first was from Rose’s Tim Tomizzi, in his pairs game with Tyger Atkin, which was their team’s only win of the night. Other maximums were from Jack Chilvers, Andy Bingham and player of the night Nick Moyses, who had a 180 and 17 and 18-dart legs in his singles win. Sam Roberts from the Consti also fired in an 18-dart leg.
Lincoln Arms A beat Ye Olde Abbey 5-4, with another two 180s chalked up. The Lincoln went 2-1 up after the pairs and then wins from Luke Rhodes, Steve Stancer and Dave Bourne sealed victory. 180s came from Abbey players Scott Lawrence and Dean Parker.
Two more 180s came in another tight match, with Drayman’s Arms A beating Consti E 5-4. Consti E went 2-1 up in the pairs and must have thought the victory was theirs after Josh Ford and Calum Ward won the first two singles games. However, Drayman’s battled back with wins from Josh Higgins, Phil Newton, Josh Grainger and Richard Cooper. 180s came from Kev Newton and Dan Gent. Cooper had an 18-dart leg as did Grainger and Josh Higgins in their pairs game. Player of the night Newton hit a 116 checkout in his 15-dart leg victory.
Table-topping Pied Calf maintained their unbeaten run by beating Tigers B 7-2, with wins for Paul Faulkner, Jacob Herd, Harry Faulkner and Steve Rawding.
Another 7-2 scoreline went the way of Consti D, who beat Punchbowl. Winning two of the three pairs set the tone and then wins for John Robinson, Jonny Robinson, Danny Drage, Nick Collins and Ady Smith earned success for Consti. They may have lost but Punchbowl’s Dan Mills got a 180, Jordan Philpott hit a 106 checkout and the highest checkout of the season so far came from Ant Norman with a 150.
Ship Long Sutton are sailing at the top of Division Three, winning all four games so far. Monday saw them beat Moulton Harrox 6-3. Harrox started well, going 2-1 up in the pairs but then won only one of the six singles, thanks to Archie Hodson. Wins for Rob Black, Brad Martin, Travis Stapleton, Tom Burton and Zach Chapman sealed victory.
Green Dragon B had a 7-2 victory against Drayman’s Arms C. They went 2-1 up in the pairs and then won five of the six singles. Matt Peppercorn was the sole singles winner for Drayman’s. Mick Holstead had an 18-dart leg in his singles victory over Shane Evans.
There was a 6-3 win for Lincoln B against Riverside, which puts Lincoln second in the table. After going 2-1 up in the pairs, wins for Vlad Fomkinas, Andy Palmer, Sharon Barnard and John Charlton were enough to pick up the points. Jonny Pell and Carl Kirk were singles winners for Riverside.
