Masterchef’s taste of Ukraine

A former Masterchef contest was given cooking lessons by Ukrainian refugees last week.

Boxes of Hope, a charity started to help refugees, welcomed Eamonn Hunt to its Holbeach Hub.
Eamonn, who finished fifth on the BBC programme in 2012 has set up Go Gro, a not for profit organisation promoting cooking skills.
The organisation was invited to the Ukrainian Friends and Food group where refugees meet up to get together and cook.
There the likes of Svitlana, her mum Val Riahorna and Oksana Ponaida taught the Masterchef about Ukrainian cooking serving up a dish of zrazu, traditional Ukrainian pancakes.
Co-director of Go Gro alongside Eamonn, Rob Hewis, said: “It was really good and interesting.
“After learning about their cooking we’ll be back soon to offer them some lessons on traditional British cooking.”
