Man taken to hospital after incident that closed road

A man was taken to hospital after being cut out of a car in a road traffic collision that closed a Moulton Road last night (Sunday).

Emergency services were called to High Road shortly before 8.15Pm following the collision that involved one vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle had to be cut out of the car by Spalding and Holbeach Fire Crews.

He was taken to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, though police said they did not believe the injuries were serious.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman, said: “We were called to a single vehicle collision at 8.14pm on the High Road between Moulton and Whaplode.

“One man was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. It is not thought that his injuries are serious.

“The road was closed to allow for recovery of the vehicle. It was opened at around midnight.”

A spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We received a call at 8.16pm on February 14 to High Road near Moulton.

“The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision involving one vehicle. We sent two paramedics in cars, a doctor in a car, and a crewed ambulance. One patient was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital.”
