Man dies after being knocked from bike

A man in his 40s has died following an accident just outside Spalding on Saturday night (February 17).

The collision between a cyclist and a VW Golf occurred at around 7.40pm on Kellett Gate.

The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham but died as a result of his injuries.

The teenage driver of the vehicle has been arrested for dangerous driving.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this collision between a cyclist and a silver Volkswagen Golf on Saturday evening at 7.40pm.

“The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to QMC but sadly died of his injuries. 

“We arrested the driver of the car, a man in his teens, for dangerous driving. Anyone who saw what happened should call 101.”
