Man intended to cause fear of violence with handgun

A man who today (Wednesday) admitted a firearms offence was told to come with his bag packed ready for prison when he returns to court for sentence.

Mindageas Stakele, 25, of Albert Street, Spalding, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Crown Court to possession of an imitation firearm between August 15 and 18 this year with intent to cause fear of violence. The charge relates to a black metal BB handgun.

Stakele was granted bail for the preparation of a report and his sentence was adjourned to 11 December.

Recorder Charles Falk told him “The custody threshold has been well passed.

“That said, you are a young man of 25 and you have never been in trouble before.

“Purely because of that I am ordering a pre-sentence report to see whether this is a case where the sentence could be suspended.

“You must understand that the fact that I am ordering a pre-sentence report is no indication as to what the final outcome will be.

“You must come back to court with a bag packed in readiness for an immediate custodial sentence.”
