Man in court on charge of rape

A 29-year-old Spalding man charged with raping a woman has appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.
Daivaras Sarkauskis is accused of the offence at an address in the town on July 31 last year.
He appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court earlier this year and his case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court.
Sarkauskis, of Spring Gardens, Spalding, appeared before Judge James House KC but he did not enter a plea to the allegation as he was unrepresented.
His case was listed for a provisional trial at Lincoln Crown Court beginning on May 28 next year.
The trial is estimated to last four days.
Sarkauskis was granted bail with the conditions that he does not contact the complainant or any prosecution witnesses.
He will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 1.
