Man had kitchen knife in town centre

A 29-year-old man has pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in the centre of Spalding last month.

Eugen Ancuta (29), of Holbeach Road, Spalding, had the kitchen knife in a public place without good reason or lawful authority on New Road in the town on Monday, March 19.

He was committed to prison for four months suspended for 12 months by Boston Magistrates’ Court on April 18.

An Alcohol Abstinence Requirement was made which meant Ancuta must abstain from alcohol for 90 days and submit to arrangement for the monitoring of the abstention.

He must also attend appointments with responsible officer as required for ten months.

Ancuta was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and pay costs of £85.

An order was also made for the kitchen knife to be destroyed.
