Man due in court over imitation firearm and robbery charges after town centre incident

A man will appear in court tomorrow charged with attempted robber and possession of an intimidation firearm after an incident in Spalding town centre yesterday.

Vaidotas Mecislauskas, aged 49, of Spalding Common is also charged with criminal damage after police were called to an incident at Nasza Biendronka store in Sheep Market, Spalding around 1.15pm yesterday (Thursday, September 29).

A spokesman for South Holland Police, said: “Following an incident in Sheep Market, Spalding, yesterday. Vaidotas Mecislauskas, aged 49, of Spalding Common, Spalding, has been charged with attempt robbery, criminal damage and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence. He has been remanded to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court tomorrow.”
