Maltby treble in latest Moulton Harrox win, Dooner inspires rare Crowland win

An Ollie Maltby hat-trick fired Moulton Harrox to their 11th win from as many ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division games on Saturday.

Harrox were 5-1 winners at Riverside, with defenders Bobby Patterson and Ashley Coddington the other scorers.

Another defender, Jonny Clay, came on as a substitute for Dave Panton’s side.

Clay, who was part of Moulton’s treble-winning side back in 2013, was out of favour at UCL Premier Division side Holbeach United and has returned to his old stomping ground.

Harrox host eighth-placed Langtoft United on Saturday (2pm).

Harrox: Kenealy, Groves, Johnson, Coddington, Patterson, Maltby, King, Townsend, Watkin, Wheeler, Bradbury. Subs used: Clay, T Panton.

  • Patrick Dooner scored twice as Crowland Town earned a 2-1 win over Deeping Rangers Reserves at Snowden Field on Saturday.

The victory is only Crowland’s second in 16 Premier Division games this season – and moves them out of the bottom two.

  • There were eight different scorers as Sutton Bridge United thrashed Langtoft Reserves 8-1 to go third in PDFL Division One.

Dave Abbott, Sam Cooper, Rob Hook, Sam Lilley, Ben Partridge, Kurt Scott, Joseph Sutton and Ashley Miller all netted at Memorial Park.

  • Martin Sandall bagged a hat-trick in Moulton Harrox Reserves’ 6-1 home win over Baston in PDFL Division One.

Louis Steadman (2) and Jake Cawthorne also notched at Broad Lane.

  • Long Sutton Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw by Wisbech Town Reserves at London Road on Saturday.

An own goal and a Jonny Allen strike earned the Magpies a point as they battled back from being 1-0 down at half time.

Danny Goddard’s side are now tenth ahead of a free weekend.
