Maddison ensures Leisure League fixtures are a Posh affair

Peterborough United star Marcus Maddison was a special guest at the latest round of Spalding six-a-side Leisure League games on Monday.

The talented Posh ace watched on as Brennans became the new leaders of Division One on what was another cracking night of action at Surfleet’s Glen Park.

The top tier got under way with Baltic United running riot against Balotellitubbies 9-0. Edgaras Buzas got the nod as man of the match (MOTM) as Baltic put Balo on the brink of relegation.

Next up was the huge clash between top two Polishborough and Brennans Sports. The game finished 3-1 to Brennans, which sent them top and consigned Polishborough to their first defeat of the season.
Brennans’ James Kingston got MOTM in a game that impressed the watching Maddison.

Game three saw a thrilling 2-2 draw between Univeg Team and Simple FC in what was a battle between two sides bidding to beat the drop. MOTM was Leigh Boekestyn.

The final game of the division was EPH Allstars beaten 4-2 by new boys Ultra D in a mid-table tussle. Dexter Martell was picked as MOTM by referee Mitchell Stimpson.

The second division kicked-off with an all blue affair as Class On Grass went toe-to-toe with Dynamo Kiev in an exciting tie.

Class prevailed 2-0, with Toby Lomax claiming his first MOTM prize.

Game two saw Mail Carters, in fantastic recent form, go down 6-0 against an impressive Old Boy Coaches outfit. Trevor Laud was singled out for the MOTM award by referee Chris Clay.

Match three was a mid-table clash as Le Saux Solid Crew went down 2-1 against Sarah’s Boys.

This result was a reverse of the previous fixture between the two sides, with Ollie Coulem chosen as MOTM.

The final game of the night saw current league leaders Posh Old Boys see off Luis Suarez Ate My Hamster 3-1. In a match Maddison called the game of the night, Matthew Black was MOTM.
