‘Lots’ of pubs, cafes and restaurants open contrary to government advice – Lincs Police Chief Superintendent

The Chief Superintendent of Lincolnshire Police has told pubs and restaurants who have opened despite government advice to ‘stop’.

Superintendent of Paul Timmins tweeted last night that ‘lots’ of reports had come in to the force from the public about places that had been ‘strongly advised’ to close by the Primer Minister Boris Johnson on Friday.

Supt Timmins, said: “We have taken lots of calls today reporting cafes, pubs and restaurants being open as normal.

“Only takeaway food is allowed.

“To all those opening and those going to those places..STOP.

“Follow https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public instruction and help us protect your community.”

Planning laws have been relaxed this week to allow those that serve food to serve it as a takeaway service.

On Friday Prime Minisier Boris Johnson’s said: “Pubs, clubs, cafes, nightclibs and gyms should close as soon as they can,” in attempt to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the latest figures for which states that 233 people had died from in the UK so far.
