UPDATE: Lorry driver charged after man seriously injured in Holbeach crash

UPDATE Tuesday, 9.15am: Police say the lorry driver arrested after a crash in Holbeach yesterday has been charged with driving without due care and attention.

Ionita Bran (43), from Spain, will appear before Lincoln magistrates this morning.

 

Monday PM: A lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention after a crash at Holbeach on Monday.(Jan 16)

A man in his 70s was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire following the collision at about 11.30am at Peppermint Junction, where the A151 meeets the A17. 

Police said: “A lorry and car collided on the A17 at Holbeach at the junction known locally as the Peppermint junction at 11.30 am.

“Four people have been injured including a man in his 70s who has been taken to Addenbrooke’s with serious injuries.”

The A17 has been closed around the scene, with diversions in place.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked call 101, quoting incident number 140 of January 15.
