Lorien beat 13 other cooks to the award to become The Spalding Rotary Young Chef in the annual competition.
Ella Beecham, of Sir John Gleed School, Spalding, came in second, while fellow schoolmate Millie Gent came third.

The challenge, open to cooks from Spalding High School, Sir John Gleed School, Spalding Grammar School and Bourne Academy, was to cook a main course and dessert in 90 minutes, within a £10 budget.

The event, sponsored by local firm South Lincs Food Services, was held at Spalding High School.

Lorien will now represent Spalding and Welland Rotary Club in the next stage of the competition, whilst Sophie Nelson will represent Bourne.

Robert Presland, speaking on behalf of the judging panel, congratulated all the entrants on their interesting menus and then announced the winners who received their cash prizes and certificates from Ron Britton of South Lincs Food Services.
