Staff at a village store clocked up more than £200 to support people with dementia by “cycling” 67 miles.

The colleagues at the Co-op in Long Sutton took it in turns to do 15 minutes on an exercise bike as part of a 12,000 Miles for Memories challenge across Lincolnshire Co-op’s stores – one for every person living with dementia in the county.

The cash raised by the county-wide challenge will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Teams at other stores boosted the total by covering as many miles as possible in a number of wacky ways.

Member Engagement Manager Richard Whittaker said: “Our colleagues have a fantastic track record when it comes to taking part in team fundraising for our charity of the year.
