Lions thank all sleigh helpers

Spalding Lions have presented cheques to organisations and groups who ho-ho-helped out with the Santa’s Sleigh Days and Nights.

At an event last week, the Lions presented helpers with cheques.

Spalding Lion Elaine Mothers said: “Without the support of all these organisations it would be a very difficult job to get round all the villages with Santa and for this we are very grateful.

“We had a few laughs along the way.”

Elaine explained that when the group gathered for its photo finale, there was one special guest missing.

“For the group photo at the end we realised our Lion President, Terry Patey, was missing, so back for another snap,” she said.

Elaine added: “Thank you once again to everyone who helped and to the general public for your kind and generous donations.”

Among those not pictured are representatives from 2nd Gosberton Brownies and 5th Spalding Guides, LIVES, Spalding PHAB, Cowbit Brownies and Rainbows, St Barnabas Hospice, and Gail Ridley, Morrisons Community Champion for Clic Sargent.

The Lions said it was one of the most successful years.
