Lions’ donation to food bank

Spalding Lions Club members, Kashmira Bennett and Richard Briers recently went along to present a cheque for £500 to the Agape Care Food Bank.

Based on Haverfield Road in Spalding, the food bank is run by a friendly group of volunteers who service the Spalding and South Holland area.
It is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 12 to 2pm providing warm meals and food supplies for the homeless and three-day food parcels for those who are in crisis.
A spokesman said: “Spalding Lions Club members chose to donate money to this charity, to help with their supply stocks, with one of our mottos in mind, that #communitymatters.”
