The number of people who are unemployed in Lincolnshire continues to fall according to the latest figures.
In Lincolnshire, June figures show 9,712 people claiming Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) – 853 fewer claimants than in May and 3,541 less than in June last year.
The Office for National Statistics figure equals a 0.2per cent decrease, down to 2.2per cent.
Youth unemployment also fell from May to June, with 225 fewer 16 to 24-year-olds now claiming JSA.
And the number of people claiming JSA for more than six months decreased, with 255 fewer long-term claimants than April.
The eight per cent decrease was broadly in line with the national trend.
The drop in JSA claimants in June was in line with national figures.
A spokesman for the Office for National Statistics said: “We would anticipate unemployment reducing in Lincolnshire around this time of year due to seasonal changes in the local labour market.”
In South Holland, 924 fewer people were claiming JSA during June – equating to a 1.7 per cent decrease.
This was in line with a decrease in unemployment across all economic zones of Lincolnshire.
