Lily names Crowland’s new estate

Two Crowland pupils are celebrating after winning a competition to name a new housing estate in the town.

Lily Cross and Troy Harrison were chosen by Ashwood Homes sales manager Nathan Marshall as winners after pupils at Southview Primary School were asked to come up with a name for the new estate which will be built on land off Peterborough Road.

Lily won first prize, £100 shopping vouchers, for her suggestion, The Roostings.

While Nathan was so impressed with the work Troy did on his presentation that it was decided to use his suggestion – Sparta – to name one of the house designs. He received £50 of vouchers.

Nathan said: “We really wanted to get the school involved in this project and we were delighted with the response.”
